Solid system, easy to use, but VERY touchy |

I have no prior experience with Co2 regulators but after careful research, it seemed that aquariumplants.com's regulator seemed to be the most promising. I wanted a regulator that I could set and forget. It certainly does just that.
However, two issues that I have with the system: 1. When it came in, the solenoid did not completely shut off airflow when turned off. I had to dissemble the unit(with staff guidance and very easy with a sharp screwdriver) to clean a small peice of dust from the plunger that was preventing the seal. 2. The needle valve is VERY touchy and hard to set exactly where I'd like for it to go. Again, I have no experience with these systems so I'm not sure if this is fixable or not.
Just my thoughts. It's been working for about 4 months now and does what I need it to.

Outstanding CO2 System |

This is a truly an amazing CO2 injection system. I have never used an injection system (only fermentation) before thinking it would be above my capabilities. Your instructions were 100% on target and I had CO2 setup and flowing perfectly in 20 minutes...from start to finish. When I was done I sat back and watched the reactor "go to town" and wondered why I had waited so long. People..get this system. It is truly a "set it and forget it" complete solution!

Definitely Better Than Others I've Used |

This is a very good regulator, especially for the price. I only have a few minor comments worth noting.
First is the locking nut on the needle valve. It is useless. The adjustment screw itself offers good adjustment, but every time you tighten the locking nut to maintain its position, it exerts just enough force to pull the adjustment screw outward and changes your setting, no matter how careful you are in not moving the adjustment screw while locking it. Not a big deal though; I don't use the locking nut and it works fine.
Second, the instructions could use a diagram that identifies the components. Not a big deal to those already familiar with regulators. While we are at it, a comment on the futility of the locking nut for the needle valve would also be in order.
Third, while the description touts the German and USA part content, which is completely true, some of the content is made in China. Probably inescapable in today's day and age.

This regulator's performance can be summed up in a couple of words :set it and forget it.

Would give it 5 stars except there were no clear instructions. There was documentation for the regulator proper, but no overall installation and usage instructions. Not a big deal if you already know how to install, etc. But I still haven't figured out the second know on the needle valve (don't know what it's for) :P
