When I first got this plant, it had two long leaves that didn't look great. It didn't look anything like the bushy picture. (I had it shipped 2-day). I put it in the tank and it quickly died off. Within a week, it had three new leaves sprouting from the substrate. After a month or so, it is now forming a nice thick bunch of leaves, promising to be a very nice looking plant. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks for the tip on the root system.

wow! The crispus is truly an amazing plant. For me, it has proven incredibly hardy. It was grown from a bulb no less, and has grown into an ever-expanding centerpiece to my aquarium. It began in a brand new aquarium, and is now a year old, living in varying conditions, with never so much as a hint of distress. This is a great plant for the beginner...one warning though...the crispus develops very large and expansive root systems, so it should be somewhat isolated from other plants in your tank.
