Blyxa japonica is a good aquatic plant to give the grass like look in a planted aquarium. Blyxa japonica stays nice and small, compared to its cousin Blyxa aubertii, and can be used in the foreground or midground area of the planted aquarium. Place the bare root Blyxa in the media to form the desired look and watch them enlarge over time.

love this plant September 11, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Chicago, IL United States
Arrived very tattered and without roots and I didn't think it would survive, but it has been three weeks and it has made a heck of a comeback. It rooted itself solid, the new leaves have an orange hue and it sends out flower stalks all the time. One of the plants actually grew a daughter plant which I separated and replanted in another aquarium. Does not grow very tall under high light and the growth is also compact. Very happy with this one.
