CarbonDoser Electronic CO2 Regulator NOTE: This is an 'introductory price' This product has forever changed the introduction of CO2 into an aquarium...Used for CO2 injection for a freshwater planted aquarium, or a Calcium reactor in a saltwater application. We guarantee, that, nowhere on this planet can you find a BETTER or MORE PRECISE regulator! (This is OUR baby, we built it, tested it, and patent it) The problem of 'dumping' is completely eliminated with our regulator. Dumping is always a problem with (ALL OTHER) regulators which utilize a needle valve. Simply because, a needle valve relies on the pressure on both sides of it for it's accuracy. So, even though you have it set at a certain 'bubble rate', once the pressure in the cylinder (or the outside atmospheric pressure) changes, so will the amount of co2 that passes through the needle valve. This is why it is physically impossible for any and ALL other regulators that rely on a 'mechanical needle valve' to ever be consistent. Our regulator does not have a needle valve, but instead, it has an electronic valve that opens and closes in a fraction of a second, (each 'opening and closing' equates to a bubble) and, due to the fact that it is 'electronic' the 'bubble rate' can NEVER change, and, once it is set, it can never vary more than +/- 1/1,000=of a second.
FEATURES:
-fully automatic
-fully electronic
-perfectly accurate (from 4 bubbles per second (240 per minute) down to 1 bubble per 10 seconds. (Count can NEVER vary more than 1/1000th of a second!)
-fully adjustable: you can adjust the 'bubbles per second' (or 'seconds per bubble') & size of the bubble (very tiny bubbles all the way up to very large bubbles)
-NO bubble counter (you count the LED light flashes instead of bubbles through a bubble counter)
-NO solenoid (that overheats and eventually fails)
-No needle valve (the 'timing of the "bubbles' is fully electronic) -Low voltage (12 volts & only draws .5 amps)
-3 year bumper to bumper warranty. (non transferrable/original purchaser)(after warranty expires, we will repair unit for $50 or less.  Meaning, this is the "last" regulator you will ever have to buy.
-Yes, it can be controlled with all pH controllers (just like others with a solenoid...just plug it in to your pH controller)
-Available with optional LCD 8 digit resettable counter (has 'backup' battery, will not lose it's count)
-Now available: 'Just the Box'... Many customers currently have a 'very expensive' regulator body, with poor quality needle valves/bubble counters/solenoids, so, we are now offering the 'electronic control box'" separately to use with your existing reg body. They utilize a 1/4in or 1/8in NPT thread size. (contact us if you wish to send your reg body and have us assemble it and test it for you, this service is currently FREE!)

CarbonDoser Electronic CO2 Regulator

Technical Specs:

Installation Instructions

  1. Attach and tighten to compressed tank.

  2. Conduct a simple 'bleed down' test:

  • Ensure regulator black knob is closed (counter clockwise all the way out)NOTE: If the co2 cylinder is opened while the knob is engaged, the high pressure could damage the low pressure gauge, or affect its accuracy and void the warranty.

  • Open main valve on tank (very, very slowly)

  • Note pressure on gauge

  • Close valve

  • Wait 5 minutes

  • If successful, (no seepage) the previously noted pressure should NOT have bleed down reduced at all.

  • If the pressure dropped: remove regulator from tank AND REPEAT process.

3. Start out slowly when adjusting co2 (too much Co2 will kill your fish)

4. To really get used to the Regulator, we suggest you take a glass of water, and simply put the Co2 tubing in the water to get a feel for the bubble count, and the size of the bubbles.

This small test will really give you an idea of the broad adjustability of the unit.

5. (to adjust the bubble count, turn the dial from 0-10. It is adjustable from 4.66 bubbles per second all the way down to 1 bubble per 10 seconds.

6. To adjust the size of the bubble simply adjust the knob. Clockwise raises the pressure and therefore increases the size of the bubbles And, counter-clockwise lowers the pressure and therefore decreases the size of the bubbles.

7. As previously stated, we strongly urge you to take your time and experiment with the unit before actually applying it your Co2 reactor, or calcium reactor. Quite quickly, you will begin to see its incredible range of adjustability and accuracy.

List of parts, and their function:

  • Right gauge: High pressure gauge, shows the amount of pressure in the Co2 cylinder. (note: pressure is NOT an indication of how your cylinder is actually a liquid while under pressure. It will hold its pressure quite stable until it begins to run out.

  • Left gauge: Low pressure gauge, shows the pressure at which you are actually dispensing the Co2. (in this instance, remember, it actually allows you to control the size of your bubbles

  • Pressure safety relief valve: Located on the far left side of the Regulator. This is simply a safety feature that will release the pressure if you set it higher than 40 lbs. (you should never touch it)

  • Little Black Box: This is the part that distinguishes our regulator from every other reg in the world. Rather than an electronic solenoid, needle valve, and bubble counter, you simple control your bubble count with the dial. As stated above, you can adjust from 4.66 bubbles per second all the way down to 1 bubble per 10 seconds.

  • Black knob Adjusts the pressure which adjusts the size of the bubbles.pressure. It will hold its' is NOT an indication of how "

WARRANTY:

This unit carries a full manufactures warranty for a period of three years from the date of purchase. As stated. Opening the cylinder valve while knob is open will destroy the guage and void the warranty. Also, certain exclusions exist, such as corrosion, and damages do to unnecessary abuse and poor maintenance. Any tampering or attempted disassembly will also void warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Warranteed items either repaired or replaced at our discretion.

Dear Aquariumplants.com,

I am writing to thank you all for your excellent support with my CO2 regulator.  I had purchased one from your site about 18 months ago and it malfunctioned a few weeks ago.  I believe it did so in part due to my over tightening the flange that connects to the CO2 cylinder.  I sent it to be inspected  to aquariumplants.com fully expecting to have to pay for the service.  Your staff (I recall speaking with Mark) were extremely helpful and kind over the phone and provided me with details as to how they were checking the regulator.

I was not charged for the servicing of the equipment nor for shipping it back to my home.  I cannot think of a time or a circumstance where I have been so pleasantly surprised by the customer service and the support.  When I inquired why this was going to be at no expense to me, I was told that "all you wanted my business".  You have got it.

Once more many thanks for your support,

Best,

Berrian Puma

I tried a couple of other "best" regulators before I finally took a chance on this one.  I am so glad I did.  It is unbelievably reliable.  I don't even worry about my co2 tank dumping when it gets low.  This regulator regulates, period.

Well, consider me part of the alumni club that started with the Milwaukee regulator and made the switch.  The Milwaukee Regulator was a nightmare to calibrate and finally unloaded my whole CO2 tank into my aquarium. Fortunately, I did not have any fish in the tank yet.

This unit is a plug and play unit.  I plugged it in and made a few adjustments and left it alone.  It turns off with my timer each night and comes on in the morning.  The bubble rate is consistent and safe.  Spend the money and save yourself the grief.
