Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset'
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset' will be released to the aquarium trade for the first time starting in January 2009. This plant is a selection from Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' with brightly colored leaves ranging in shades from pink to red to yellow. Medium to high light light will help to make the leaf colors brighter but this plant will flourish under all lighting conditions.
It is a mistake to believe that Cryptocorynes require soft water. In large parts of Sri Lanka the water is hard, so Sri Lanka Cryptocorynes are almost all suitable for hard water. If the plant is affected by the so called "cryptocoryne disease", or meltdown, do not remove it from the aquarium because a few weeks later it will adjust to the water and it will produce new shoots.

Not many ways to claim the word gorgeous this plant is all that and more.
I was sent a very healthy potted one with five leaves. Unreal color  and very happy.

Not fully satisfied...yet August 22, 2012
Reviewer: Ross from Houston, TX United States
My plant I ordered came in poor shape with essentially 1 leaf that wasn't dead.  I haven't been able to tell much about the plant yet because it has only had 1 small damaged leaf, but within the week it has started to sprout 2 new leaves.  Hopefully the plant will recover to it's full potential.

Excellent plant November 9, 2011

This plant was part of several that came with the custom package. I'll say it was slow going and I thought they were almost dead but they adjusted to my tank and they took off like wild fire.

I bought one plant in June. It came to me a scrawny 2 stalk plant. Now there is so much new growth, it has about 17 stalks and such beautiful coloring. Get more in stock!!

Beautiful but snails ate it July 28, 2009
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
Beautiful colors.  It was gorgeous when it arrived, but I had ramshorn snails among others, and they chewed it up very badly.  I have since removed them all from the tank and placed this in another tank.  It grows well, just truly more difficult to keep it from getting eaten, so beware.
