Heteranthera zosterifolia is an extremely beautiful plant which forms a lot of side shoots and thus quickly forms a bushy plant group. In strong light growth is intensive...the plant should be pruned before it becomes so thick that no light reaches the lower leaves. Water roots often form on the stem. In open aquariums, it forms small blue flowers if some shoots are allowed to spread on the surface.

Beautiful, vigorous plants July 16, 2016
Reviewer: Paul Nguyen Buu from Montreal, QC Canada
The plants were delivered in freezing weather, and thus about half of the stems in the bunches were D.O.A. (weather's fault, not aquariumplants's). The stems which survived have, within one week, started to grow like crazy, surpassing my expectations...these plants are beautiful and I am sure of very good quality to have survived the weather and the shipping! They are at any rate thriving with CO2 fertilisation and 2 watts per gallon of lighting in my tank.

Basic Requirements July 16, 2016
Reviewer: Gary MacDonald from Windsor, ON Canada
Stargrass is an excellent "replacement" for Hygrophila in a high light, Co2 injected tank. Does ok, without high light and no Co2, but grows "leggy" and not as nice in appearance. Co2, High Light, Macronutrients, and it'll grow into a gigantic bush in not time!

stargrass July 16, 2016

Out of all the different bunches I ordered, this one had the smallest stems by far. They weren't doing well for a while, and after a good 2 months they are still short. I was hoping to use this towards the back of my tank, stargrass is supposed to grow to 20in, but mine is staying put at just a few in.

Huge Bunch! August 22, 2014
Reviewer: Stacey from Pasadena, MD United States
I had thought I'd get a few strands of this but the bunch was enough for 4 large bunches planted!  It is a little 'battered' looking from shipping but should be fine once it's established.  I can't wait until it fills in!

Good Order July 22, 2013

All the reviews are pretty spot on about this plant.  It arrived it a very generous bunch though quite a bit of foliage died off within a day or two the plant was quick to rebound.  Apparently this is normal for this plant to die off a bit after being shipped.  I have had mine under low light conditions with a co2 suppliment and the plant is doing great.
