NOTE: Be very carefull when purchasing ballasts for Metal Halides. Few people know this, but, "magnetic" ballasts have an unwanted "bulb flicker". These Ice Cap "electronic" ballasts do NOT.
This phenomenon has been documented by use of super slow motion recordings of "crash tests" by the major auto manufacturers. It's not noticable to the naked eye, but, your live plants and live corals will suffer because of it. Keep in mind, if a bulb flickers, it is only producing a fraction of the light. |
