i have tried in the past to make a planted aquarium without success. this time i started from scratch with this companys items and everything is growing wildly. the dark color of the substrate sets off the color of the plants nicely and the ph is staying lower than with other substrates i have used.

BEST SUBSTRATE ON THE MARKET |

This review is gonna be lenghty, but informative:
My son is a marine biologist (31 years) with tons of backround in freshwater fish & live plants. When I went to set up my 300 gallon aquarium, I asked for his help (again). Explaing to him I wanted the ultimate freshwater "planted" aquarium. Our first point of research was to get the BEST substrate available. Here's what we learned:
ECO-COMPLETE: Advertised as permanant, and nutrient complete. There in NO such substrate that is permanent, this is impossible. Also, it is "volcanic" meaning it has been baked to 1000's of degrees, sealing in any nutrients...so, the nutrients in it are not "available" to the plant roots.
SEACHEM FLOURITE: A somewhat natural clay based substrate that has not been processed or baked enough, so it turns to MUD. Also, advertised as permanent, but is not, 'cause as aforementioned, there is NO such substrate as permanent.

I love this substrate! My new 65 gallon black tank and stand looks GREAT with this black substrate. The particle size is perfect and most amazingly, the tank was crystal clear the same day I setup with your substrate! One bucket covered my tank to a height of 3 inches, just like you promised.

I was 1 of the 1st customers to receive this new substrate. I took their advice and used it with their exclusive substrate tablets. I have 2 tanks with eco and 1 with Flourite. After 2 weeks, I could actually see faster growth. Now after 5 weeks, the colors of all my plants is much more vibrant and the plants are noticably healthier than my 3 other tanks. I have a 4 way co2 manifold so all the tanks are getting the same amount of co2 and identical lighting systems, so my observations are spot on. I am totally impressed. Regards, RS Kansas City, MO
